The journey to the put-in point for the rafting on Tamur River involves a 18 hour road journey by minibus to Basantpur, followed by a 4 day trek to Dovan (put in point for Tamur river rafting/kayaking). Tamur is the sixth largest river in Nepal and witness the scenery and habitat of the Nepali down. The river has white beaches and rapids are 4-5 grades which are the outcome of the himalayas wonders.
Tamur flows with great intensity and its acrobat has greatly impresses many foreigners day by day. The length of 135 km takes 4-5 days of river action which is best suited to those with a sense of adventure and seeking something a little different from the rivers of Nepal.
Best season for the river is from September – December and genuinely ready for rafting during January – May. Its not possible to raft in the monsoon amid rainfall.
