There are various treks that you can do in the Everest area to gasp the never satisfying beauty. And, Everest Three high Passes Trek itinerary is one of those amazing adventures that takes you to the scenic land of the higher Himalayas.
Everest Three Pass Trekking is the popular trekking option of the Khumbu(Everest) region. With fly above the Kathmandu skies to the Lukla region, the Everest Three High Passes trek commences. After a scenic airstrip of half an hour over hills, it lands in the Lukla “Gateway of Everest”. Lukla welcomes you by providing the amazing views of its landscapes and neighboring mountains.
Thereafter, the trails move ahead through traditional Sherpa settlements and lush forests. Settlements like Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Chhukung are part of this trek. Crossing these villages will also pass many suspension bridges, mani walls, monasteries, gompas, prayer wheels, and flags. If all of the happenings of this trek have to be said as the highlights, the list is long. So, let’s get to the point of this trek.
This trek is all about three high mountain passes of Everest; Kongma La(5,535m), Cho La(5,360m), and Renjo La(5385m). These three mountain passes are dotted around the higher Everest region and this trek revolves around them. Plus, it touches down both Everest Base Camp(5,364m) and Kalapathar(5545m) also. Isn’t this trek just more than you ask for? Yes, of course, it is, it takes all of the major stops of the exquisite Everest region. You got to see Mt Everest and other peaks from various viewpoints i.e. Kongma La, Cho La, Renjo La, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, and wherever you are walking. The mountain views from each of these stations are unique in their own way.
Gokyo Lakes are also a part of this expedition, these frozen lakes add sugar to already a sweet taste of high passes trekking. Observing these lakes from the distance and crossing by their sides makes this trek more occurrence. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 02: Free and arrangement day.
Day 03: fly Kathmandu – Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,562m/8,700ft): 35 minutes airstrip and 3-4 hrs trek
Day 04: Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,280 ft): 10km, 6-7 hrs
Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar
Day 06: Namche Bazzar - Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5-6 hrs
Day 07: Tengboche - Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300ft): 5-6 hrs
Day 08: Dingboche – Chhukung (4,730m/14,334ft): 3-4 hrs
Day 09: Chhukung - Kongma La (5,535m/18,154ft) - Lobuche (4,940m/16,204ft): 9-10 hrs
Day 10: Lobuche-Gorak Shep (5,160m/17,000ft)-Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft): Gorak Shep :15km, 8-10 hrs
Day 11: Gorak Shep - Kala Pathar (5,545m/18,192 ft) - Dzonglha (4,830m/15,850ft): 15km, 8-10 hrs.
Day 12: Dzonglha - Cho La (5420m/17,778ft) - Thangnak (4,680m/15,350ft) - Gokyo (4,800m/15,580ft): 9-10 hrs
Day 13: Rest and explore Gokyo Ri
Day 14: Gokyo -Cross Renjo-la pass(5360m) down to Lungden(4370m) 7 hours.
Day 15: Lungden - Thame village(3820m) and visit Thame monastery.
Day 16: Thame - Namche (3445m).
Day 17: Namche - Lukla (2830m).
Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu.
Day 19: Final Departure to the airport for your onward destination.
